Philanthropy
SFFAMA partners with other non-profit organizations to actively get involved in our community and international causes through our philanthropic social movement ‘Fashion4Good.org’ project.
SFFAMA not only produces sophisticated fashion events, but also educates the local fashion and art community by providing business and technology workshops.
In April 2011, we partnered with Vino Moda as a sponsor for the Angel Wine Festival benefiting Angel Island State Park and on June 2010, we sponsored Bryant park West benefiting Sonoma Valley Teen Services.
During the recent Fashion Feud and Fashion Mash-Up events, we ramped up our philanthropic efforts by raising funds for Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Relief with Red Cross Bay Area. SFFAMA produced the runway during the 17th Annual Okizu Foundation’s ‘Art Inspiring Hope Gala’ and partnered with Evenbrite to raise funds for Dress for Success at Project San Francisco.
We also partnered with SFSmiles at The Fashion Tour and Indie Bazaar series. Donated leftover clothings from Trunk and Swap to Community Thrift Store from Trunk & Swap in turn, proceeds from sold items will benefit Visual Aids. To emphasize our belief in recycling and sustainable fashion to make an impact with the environment.
SFFAMA facilitated prizes to winners of Fashion Feud, in partnership with Big Sky Media and Scion, and The Beauty Expo 2011, as part of our mission to eventually offer grants to our member entrepreneurs.
As part of our mentorship program and in partnership with SFSU’s Fashion Network Association, SFFAMA trains production assistants in fashion show production, marketing, personal image improvement and entrepreneurship.
We continue to offer monthly workshops with Fashion Mash-Up and Portfolio Nights, both platforms for tech, business and education.
SFFAMA supports the following organizations through collaborations, donations, cross promotions, program or project partnerships and event sponsorships.
